Under The Sun - Week 4

In Ecclesiastes 4, Solomon pulls back the curtain on some of the most common places we look for hope and meaning, and what he reveals is both sobering and liberating. Power, achievement, and wealth all promise to satisfy us, yet each one ultimately leaves us empty. Solomon does not leave us there, though. He points us toward something far more durable. Through the imagery of a cord of three strands, we are reminded that true strength is not found in two people simply deciding to do life together, but in inviting God into the center of our relationships, our work, and our families. Just as rebar transforms ordinary cement into something capable of bearing enormous weight, the presence of God's Spirit transforms ordinary human connection into something that can withstand the pressures and storms of life. This message asks us a direct and personal question: where are we actually placing our hope? Are we chasing after things that will eventually crack and fade, or are we anchoring ourselves to the eternal hope found in Christ?
